Problems with setup

After creating the web part to manage the delegations, I always see "You don't have Delegation role set."  I have verified that the Delegation_List items are being created.

Now, whenever starting a workflow, I get the following errors in the SharePoint logs and the assigned user does not change:

Leaving Monitored Scope (PostResolveRequestCacheHandler). Execution Time=12.1846491663047

Leaving Monitored Scope (DataBinding DataFormWebPart ()). Execution Time=4.35125134619065

Leaving Monitored Scope (EnsureListItemsData#1). Execution Time=5.20750542317529

Leaving Monitored Scope (EnsureListItemsData). Execution Time=7.75782955654979

The user does not exist or is not unique.

Hi,

Delete all the items on delegation list and make sure you are logged-In as normal user for setting  role (not system account).

What is the authentication type used on SharePoint Web?

Megren,

I am using Windows AD authentication for SharePoint, and I think I may have other problems with my setup.  I completely removed the delegation task manager but still have the user problems and recursive workflow error (not sure how that's happening as it's a fairly straightforward SPD workflow).  I am running SharePoint Foundation 2010 on Server 2008 R2 Enterprise in a VMWare virtual machine.  It froze up on me a few days ago and things have not been the same since.

Looks like I will have to restore an older snapshot and try again.  I will try again after I do that and let you know how it fares.

Thanks,

John
